The Holy Bible is the primary text of the U.F.B.L. We interpret
the Bible allegorically in order to discover the teachings embedded within
the scriptures. We believe the Bible offers nourishment for the soul, and
we use its lessons as reminders of our divine origin and purpose. In addition
to the Bible, we study the teachings and writings of leading New Thought
philosophers and scholars including Charles Fillmore and Dr. H. Emilie Cady.

The History of Panorama of Truth
Panorama of Truth was originally conceived by our Founder and President-Emerita,
the Rev. Dr. Johnnie Colemon as a Building Fund project of Christ Unity Temple,
the forerunner of Christ Universal Temple. Its spiritual basis was the bringing
together of leading spiritual teachers and leaders for an “in-the-city
retreat” in Chicago to create an atmosphere where “miracles” could
take place.
The first POT held in 1971 produced outstanding spiritual and financial
blessings and CUT made POT an annual event until 1973. Since 1974 it has
been the major annual activity of the Universal Foundation for Better Living
and up until 1991, it was always held in Chicago. Since then, it has been
held in other US cities, namely Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville,
New Orleans, Reno, and overseas in Toronto, Nassau, Ocho Rios and Cancun.
Thus POT has become UFBL’s annual conference that serves to bring
together members and friends of UFBL churches and study groups for renewal
and inspiration. Consequently, its main objective is to facilitate spiritual
experiences through the exposure of participants to internationally recognized
speakers and leading teachers in the New Thought movement. Additionally,
POT traditionally features presentations from our own ministers and licensed
teachers who have blessed us through sharing how they have applied the principles
of Truth.
It also provides the context within which participants share spiritual experiences
with fellow travelers on the spiritual path. The main feature has been the
Healing Experience as the closing activity of the conference. Over the years,
scores of persons have experienced spiritual healing that has resulted in
a restoration to wholeness in their physical bodies, in their financial affairs
and in their relationships.
In terms of recreation, POT also provides the opportunity to leisurely explore
the attractions and culture of various cities since it is held in a different
city each year.
