New Thought is Practical Christianity that empowers people to realize their potential by becoming consciously aware of Spirit within them.

New Thought teaches universal spiritual principles that enable people to build happy and prosperous lives.

New Thought helps people to change their circumstances by changing their thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

The Holy Bible is the primary text of the U.F.B.L. We interpret the Bible allegorically in order to discover the teachings embedded within the scriptures. We believe the Bible offers nourishment for the soul, and we use its lessons as reminders of our divine origin and purpose. In addition to the Bible, we study the teachings and writings of leading New Thought philosophers and scholars including Charles Fillmore and Dr. H. Emilie Cady.

Forming a study group is the first step toward becoming a Universal Foundation for Better Living member church. A study group is a non-profit corporation chartered by the state or country in which it is formed. It begins as an affiliate of the Universal Foundation for Better Living. The U.F.B.L. monitors the developmental progress of the study group in order to determine its readiness to become a U.F.B.L. member church. Anyone interested in introducing the principles of the U.F.B.L. to his or her community may submit a written request to establish a study group. A minimum of 15 members is required.

Membership in the U.F.B.L. is the ultimate goal of the study group. In order to apply for membership, a study group must be in existence for at least six months and must meet the following criteria:

Ministers of existing churches are invited to bring their churches into the Universal Foundation for Better Living. Applications for membership are considered on an individual basis.
